Season 6 has brought the end game to Diamond Dynasty, which means that any card from past Sets is eligible yet again.
Set 3 behemoth Adley Rutschman returns and it’s a better card than its Finest counterpart. Hence, Rutschman sits at the top of the catcher chain.
Aside from Rutschman, several Set 3 cards return to the list. Set 1 star Chipper Jones also makes it on the meta list, as the switch-hitter who’s one of the Set 1 collection rewards ranks first among third basem*n. Fellow Brave and Core collection reward Ozzie Albies remains #1 among second basem*n.
Lastly, there are a ton of good shortstops available in Diamond Dynasty. However, those who can afford 99 OVR Milestone Elly De La Cruz or already have one will likely be set. We didn’t have this card up this high when it was roaming MLB The Show 23 due to questionable Vision — which does matter at higher difficulties — but that’s the only weakness on this card.
After playing through Set 3 & 4, we have to eat crow on that one.
Best outfielders
Let’s move on to the outfielders.
LF
- September MA Lightning Juan Soto (99 OVR)
- 2023 Finest Bryan Reynolds (99 OVR)
- 2023 All-Star Game Corbin Carroll (99 OVR)
- Kaiju Kyle Schwarber (99 OVR)

CF
- All-Star Game Ken Griffey Jr. (99 OVR)*
- Incognito Mickey Mantle (99 OVR)
- 2023 Finest Cody Bellinger (99 OVR)
- Milestone Mike Trout (99 OVR)
- Home Run Derby Joc Pederson (99 OVR)
RF
- Milestone Ronald Acuna Jr. (99 OVR)
- 2023 Finest Mookie Betts (99 OVR)
- Incognito Hank Aaron (99 OVR)
- Milestone Babe Ruth (99 OVR)
- Snapshot Charlie Blackmon (99 OVR)
September MA Lightning Juan Soto still leads the pack in left field, but the TA5 Bryan Reynolds gives that card a run for its money. Set 3 collection Corbin Carroll and Set 2 Kaiju Kyle Schwarber make it on the list, as well.
At center field, Extreme Program reward Ken Griffey Jr. and Milestone Mike Trout are still among the best players in the game right now. But don’t forget about “The Commerce Comet” Mickey Mantle or slugger Joc Pederson.
In right field, Set 1 & 2 collection rewards Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron return to the meta. However, Milestone Ronald Acuna Jr. and his incredible overall stats make it the top dog in our right field rankings.
Best pitchers
Lastly, let’s take a look at the relievers and starters.
SP
- Snapshot Nolan Ryan (99 OVR)
- Jin Kim John Donaldson (99 OVR)

- Awards Jacob deGrom (99 OVR)
- Charisma Bob Gibson (99 OVR)
- Incognito Chris Sale (99 OVR)
Snapshot Nolan Ryan still stands as the top option for those who can get him, thanks to his hard fastball and 125 H/9. And yes, John Donaldson is back.
Corbin Burnes and Shohei Ohtani from the 2023 Finest Series are among the new cards that can still pack a punch, as will Randy Johnson and Kodai Senga. Senga can be obtained through the Moonshot Forever Events Program.
RP
- 2023 Finest Felix Bautista (99 OVR)

Team Affinity 5 introduced 2023 Finest cards for both Felix Bautista and Jhoan Duran. Duran is hard to hit in MLB The Show, but Bautista can be an absolute nightmare when used properly.
Season 6 also means the return of some very trippy relievers, including Aaron Loup from Set 2.
